The three aim points in Figure 1 below, points A,B,C are the only points you rally to from the baseline. the decision as to whether you are ready rally to aim points B or C depends on how wide your balls are spread while trying to hit 100 balls to aim point A from the baseline. See Figure 2, below. Because an error is so costly, the margins error must be made very narrow.

Note that the natural spread of a players ball between two limits is sufficiently wide that there is no need to make an extra effort to move the opponent. Hence, by using the natural spread, the player reduces their stress level while increasing their opponent's stress level as they have to respond to the natural randomness of your ball
